In 1979, he founded “Fraternidad Cristiana de Guatemala”; he began the church with only 20 members and today, the congregation numbers more than 12,000 members, making it one of the biggest churches in Guatemala.

Dr Lopez started preaching at the age of 15. Through his leadership, Fraternidad Cristiana has become a role-model church to Latin America and the world. He is a very influential figure in Guatemala; several Presidents, as well as many leaders of the country have attended the church and consulted with him.

Dr Lopez is a skillful and anointed preacher, and an excellent administrator. He is happily married to his wife Elsy, who has been a great support to him in the ministry.  They have three sons, Jorge, Alex and Cesar, who are happily married; and two wonderful grandchildren, Ana Isabel and Juan Marcos. His three sons are committed to serve the Lord. Jorge and Cesar are members of their own musical band called “Parousia”. They are devoted to preach and to make known the gospel of Jesus Christ through their music. Alex Lopez is the Associate Pastor of Fraternidad Cristiana.
